God is Moving Through the Land
Dear MBC Church Family,
Washington Prayer March 2020 with Franklin Graham: As Vice President Pence was leaving the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, after having offered up his prayers for the nation at the beginning of the event, many in the crowd spontaneously began chanting, U-S-A, U-S-A, U-S-A. However, after a few seconds, many more in the crowd started chanting, JE-SUS, JE-SUS, JE-SUS. They were emphasizing the purpose for the day’s prayer march, to pray that our nation would return to God and to give their lives to Jesus Christ. Like our day of prayer, the march focused on specific themes at stops along the route from the Lincoln Memorial to the U.S. Capitol. There were prayers for personal salvation, repentance and forgiveness; for families and an end to the pandemic; for kindness, respect and reconciliation between races; and for our national and local leaders.
The prayer march happened to be one of several events occurring simultaneously on the National Mall on what turned out to be a true national day of prayer. Joining Prayer March 2020 on the Mall were other organizations like David’s Tent DC, TheReturn.Org, Christ Is The Answer Ministries and many others. This is what we ourselves had been praying for, to see people literally on their knees humbling themselves before God and seeking His face. It was a wonder to behold. We can only believe that the Spirit of God is moving through the land and that the healing will soon begin. (Scenes from the events are attached.)
On this day of prayer, let’s continue to invite our family and friends to join us remotely for service by Skype: https://join.skype.com/P8TRBZjej8aU or by conference call: (339) 209-5068.
