Healing and Reconciliation

Healing-and-Reconciliation

Dear MBC Church Family,

On Tuesday evening, I drove around areas of Washington, DC surrounding the Ellipse just south of the White House, looking to see if there were any signs of angelic activity that would be on display there the next day at the Stop the Steal rally.  All the chatter on the internet and call to arms by politicians leading up to the day when Congress would count the electoral votes was ample evidence that chaos and conflict were being planned.  However, I was believing that God would by some means restrain the enemy from accomplishing their goals of delaying or overturning the results of the election and that God would instead use them to accomplish His own goals.  The following day I mentioned to our noontime prayer group that I did not see any spiritual beings but that the angels I did see were actually officers of the DC Metropolitan Police Department cordoning off the area, truck drivers doing the same and others on guard to maintain the peace throughout the rally.

We all witnessed in real-time on Wednesday afternoon the insurrectionists leave the rally and storm the Capitol, insurrectionists comprised of or incited by the same opportunistic congressmen, pardoned criminals, militia, white nationalists and violent extremists that we had been praying about. But we also witnessed their power being restrained.  The full scope of the carnage that was planned is only now unfolding with the discoveries of caches of firearms, pipe bombs, Molotov cocktails and other weapons intended to cause harm to the men and women who were fulfilling their oath of office in maintaining a peaceful transfer of power.   However, what could have turned into a bloodbath was limited in loss of life due to the same angels from MPD that I saw the day before who went into the Capitol after the total and utter collapse of the federal response to the crisis and cleared the building floor by floor of the insurrectionists.  There’s no question that by the officers’ actions God made His presence known and that our prayers to restrain the enemy were answered.

After the crisis had past, the President may have given his speech under duress and may have since recanted, but he captured my sentiments exactly when he called for a time of healing and reconciliation.  This is what we have been praying for all along, that God would begin a period of healing and reconciliation, both physically and socially; and more importantly, spiritually, drawing us back to Him.  The insurrection had the unintended consequence of repulsing many Americans who did not support the incoming administration and causing them to step off the path of corruption and destruction, and to step into an era of unity.  This is something only God could have done.  And we can now say that what the devil has meant for evil, God has meant for good (Genesis 50:20).

Let’s continue to pray each day for God to heal our land as we continue to invite our family and friends to join us remotely for service by Skype: https://join.skype.com/P8TRBZjej8aU or by conference call: (339) 209-5068.
