The Healing is Starting to Occur
Dear MBC Church Family,
At the beginning of the pandemic, 2 Chronicles 7:14 was a reminder that God was calling His people to “humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways.” In response, God promised that He would heal our land. However, as often is the case, the answer is not always immediate. It seems like we started witnessing more hurt than healing, more chaos than comfort, with the surge in infections, the economy taking a hit, and even protests erupting throughout the globe over injustices in this country. Nevertheless, it may be a leap of faith on my part, but I actually believe we are beginning to see the healing that’s starting to occur.
That leap is based on Exodus 14:13-14, a reminder that God will fulfill His promises to us: “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” These words were spoken when the people of Israel were figuratively caught between a rock and a hard place, and literally between the unstoppable Egyptian army and the unmovable Red Sea. But, both forces collapsed that day. God crushed the mighty army and parted the raging sea. I can see similar events unfolding today that reveal the hand of God working in the background, offering an unshakable hope that the reign of chaos that’s swirling in our land today is soon coming to an end and God’s healing will then be complete. Just like He said He would.
