We Offer Support Through Prayer

Dear MBC Church Family,

“Apocalyptic.”  That’s the word used to describe the severity of the recent surge of coronavirus infections in parts of the country that had escaped the impact of the initial wave.  However, because certain statistics are lagging indicators, there’s a great fear that we have not seen the worst of the latest surge yet.  In a couple of weeks, scenes from these regions may be too gruesome to comprehend.

We know of Christian brothers and sisters living in these areas and would like to offer our prayer support to them during a special virtual prayer meeting that we will host in a few weeks.  It is tentatively scheduled for July 16, 2020 from 7:00pm – 8:00pm.

Similar to our Virtual Day of Prayer, we’d like to dedicate this time to pray specifically with and for Christians in these hard hit areas as they struggle with the pandemic.  If you know of anyone who may want to join us, please pass along their email address.  God has protected us and has given us many wonderful experiences with Him during this time.  We’d like to offer to those whose lives may be upended the same support we’ve received and to encourage them as God draws them to Himself, letting them know that “We’re All In This Together.”

We also plan to host a virtual town hall a couple of weeks later to address the topic of racial injustice and what our response to it should be.  Let me know if you have suggestions for individuals who may be able to lead a discussion on this topic

Continue to let your family and friends know that they can join us remotely by Skype: https://join.skype.com/P8TRBZjej8aU; by conference call: Dial-in: (978) 990-5159, Access Code: 294069; or by direct dial without an access code: (339) 209-5068.   If lines are busy, text the following to either number: CALL ME.  The conference line will call you back.  Follow the prompts to join.

  • Sunday morning Worship Service (11:30am)

  • Monday through Saturday Noontime Prayer (12:00pm-1:00pm)

For anyone who chooses to make a contribution to the church, we’ve now set up a link on the church’s website, www.MeadowsBaptistChurch.org, to process credit/debit card donations.  Contributions can still be sent to the church at PO Box 488, Upper Marlboro, MD 20773.

Feel free to stop by the church for special prayer during the noontime prayer and feel free to stop by anytime to meditate and pray outside the church and walk The Stations of the Cross.

God bless and keep you and your family.
